El propósito de esta investigación fue comparar la fuerza de compresión de diferentes ionómeros de vidrio. Se fabricaron 30 muestras, divididas en grupos de 10. En el primer grupo se utilizó Ketac Molar Easy Mix, en el segundo se utilizó Vitremer y en el tercero Ketac N 100. Se elaboraron cilindros de cada material, de acuerdo con las instrucciones del fabricante para cada caso, para tal fin se emplearon moldes preformados de Ultradent. Las muestras se almacenaron en agua a 37 °C por 24 horas, antes de ser falladas en una máquina de pruebas Tiinus Olsen H 10 K-s a una velocidad de 0,1 cm/min. El Ketac Easy Mix tuvo una fuerza compresiva de 40,9 MPa.; el Vitremer tuvo una fuerza promedio de 111,7 MPa, mientras que para el Ketac N 100 la fuerza fue de 117,4 MPa. Los ionómeros de vidrio híbridos poseen una resistencia a la compresión muy superior a la del ionómero de vidrio convencional evaluado. (Hernández Mata, 2012)
